New Release

JIRCAS Dream Biomass Solutions Co. entered Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership (JCLP)!

We are pleased to announce to join the membership of Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership (URL: https://japan-clp.jp/en). We contribute to the circular bioeconomy and GHG reduction through our upcycling conversion technologies for unused biomass from agricultural and food industries in Japan and abroad such as unused oil palm residues. Consistent with Paris Agreement, we would contribute more to locally and globally decarbonize our society for sustainability by joining in JCLP.

ABOUT US

We, JIRCAS Dream Biomass Solutions Co. (JDBS), were certified in October 2022 as a venture company from the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS).

We have developed an innovative conversion process that uses the vast amount of unused biomass generated by the palm oil or food industries to reduce the industry’s environmental impact and contribute to the realization of a highly sustainable palm industry. The conversion process will enable the production of zero-emission fuel pellets that do not depend on fossil fuels by taking advantage of the diverse characteristics of palm biomass. The process can also be applied to the production of pellets for materials.

JDBS provides consulting, manufacturing plant EPC, operational support, and product sales for fuel and material pellet production to domestic and overseas customers, mainly in palm oil producing countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia.

Our core technology, “Multiple Biomass Kluang Process,” enables us to process OPT (oil palm trunks), OPF (oil palm fronds), EFB (empty fruit bunches), MCF (mesocarp fiber), and POME (palm oil mill effluent) in the same process to produce the same quality of pellets. This process ensures economic viability, improves sustainability, and brings a circular economy to the palm industry that adds value to unused resources and circulates them.

In addition to the palm industry, we will lead the creation, development, and expansion of circular economy industries using residues generated in various agricultural, forestry, and fishery sectors as raw materials, thereby contributing to the preservation of the global environment and the security of food supply.

Our Vision

Toward a Sustainable Biomass Industry

01

Cooking oil is essential to our diet, 40% of which is supported by palm oil, which is grown and harvested on vast plantation farms. Then, it is extracted, refined, and processed at palm oil mills.

02

On the other hand, plantation development has led to the destruction of vast tropical rainforests and ecosystems, and the massive generation of plantation residues and oil processing residues, as well as harsh labor conditions and human rights issues, have become global environmental problems.

03

Convert unused biomass into resources through innovative biomass conversion process (Kluang process) / GHG reduction: Contribute to sustainable edible oil production.

04

Contribute to both food supply stability and environmental reservation/resolution of human rights issues.

Business
Philosophy

Realizing the SDGs

Promoting the transformation of the palm industry to sustainable agriculture in harmony with environmental protection. Circular economy through the utilization of vast amounts of unutilized biomass to the palm industry. Become an entity that can contribute to improving the benefits of all parties involved, such as increasing palm oil productivity and improving the working environment.

Leading the creation, development, and expansion of a bioeconomy industry that converts unused biomass into recycled products through technological innovation, improves the environment of plantations and mills, and contributes to the formation of a sustainable palm oil industry and the preservation of the global environment.

Restore the health of the environmental and socioeconomic problems faced by the world’s agriculture, forestry, and fisheries industries by promoting the utilization of unused biomass in addition to the palm industry. To create jobs in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors and contribute to the creation of a social system that enables everyone, including stakeholders, to live prosperous lives, aiming to break free from poverty and inequality.
